A 85-year-old man and a community leader in Arougba community
in Oredo local government area of Edo State, Pa Goodluck Uwumahongie,
has been beheaded by unknown assassins with his headless body found
where it was dumped.
The octogenarian who was shot
several times before his head was cut off by the murderers, according
to some residents, must have been killed over a protracted land dispute
in the community.

reports that Pa Uwumahongie's death brings to 4 the number of prominent
indigenes of the community to have been killed over the same land dispute while many houses have been burnt in the process of the tussle.
Operatives of the Edo State
Police Command's Homicide Unit, say they are working hard to unravel
the mystery behind the killing of the old man while asserting that 2 two
suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident while the
police were on the trail of the killers
