2015 Elections: 10 Memorable Quotes From Obasanjo, Others

If there is one thing that Nigerians, both home and abroad, have been united on in the past few months, it is the 2015 general elections.
The forthcoming general
elections, starting on February 14, 2015, will shape the political structure of the country for the next 4 years.
Chief. Olusegun Obasanjo (Former president)
“I have no apprehension over this coming elections. I have no fears over the forthcoming elections. I have had some little experience about this country. I was a military head of state and I was also a civilian president, so what is left?”
Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (APC presidential candidate)
”I did not ask you to kill anybody, but for you to protect your votes and I promise you that I will not fail you if you give me your mandates through your votes.”

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (APC national leader)
“There is no way for the Poverty Development Party, the Peoples Deception Party in Lagos because Lagos is not for experimentation.”

President Goodluck Jonathan (Incumbent president and PDP presidential candidate)
“Some people are playing politics with Nigeria’s security. Some are instigating that the president is formenting insecurity to continue to stay in power. We inherited Boko Haram. We are in a world where terror has become the order of the day.”
Mr. Tolu Ogunlesi (Nigerian Journalist)
“Let us substitute the PDP and allow them to rest for a while. After all isn’t democracy the power to make a mistake and to change your mind four years down the line? If Buhari and his people fail us we will send them packing in 2019.”
Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III (Sultan of Sokoto)
“The whole politicking has been turned to either religious or ethnic politics and this shouldn’t be the case because we see what happens across the world. We are worried because religion has been brought into it and we made it very clear in 2011 that there is no way religion should play a part in election campaigns or even elections itself.”
Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode (APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Lagos State)
“I will be like BRF. I will be like Asiwaju. I have learned under them. They will pray for me. I will perform better than them. I will not disappoint Lagosians. Our party exists in all local governments and nooks and crannies. We stand for the protection of lives and property. We will carry all the people along, irrespective of their tribes.”

Governor Rochas Okorocha (Governor Imo state)
“I will be Nigeria’s President in 2015″.
Prof. Yemi Osibajo (APC Vice-presidential candidate)
“No difference in the roles that I play, as pastor, professor and politician. The reason I function as a pastor is to touch the lives of people & I will do same as a political leader.”
Mr. Babatunde Fashola (Governor Lagos State)
“You know what you must do. Open your eyes clearly. When I took this job, at the age of 44, I was counting the number of white hair on my head. Today, at 52, I am counting the number of black hair on my head. Akinwunmi (Ambode) is younger than me. You need youthfulness to do this job. That man (Mr. Agbaje) is already 60, he cannot cope with this job. If you call him at night he will not take your phone.”
This elections is said to be the most important election held in Nigeria since the return of democracy in 1999. This is as a result of the recent increase of the new opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been in power since 1999 and for the first time are facing a stiff opposition from the rival political force.
